As part of the Haslemere Festival, Clive will accompany Janice Watson at her performance on the 25th of May 2023.
World-renowned soprano Janice Watson studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and rose to prominence as the winner of the 1987 Kathleen Ferrier Memorial Award. Janice has appeared in a variety of roles in all of the world’s major opera houses, among the highlights are Katya (Katya Kabanova) at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Liu (Turandot) and Micaëla (Carmen) at The Metropolitan Opera in New York, Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) and Ellen Orford (Peter Grimes) at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Her recital today will feature some of her favourite repertoire, including French chanson, British art song, showtunes and arias from Puccini’s most celebrated operas. The pianist, Clive Osgood is Director of Music at St Bartholomew’s Church.
