

‘Daffodils’ and ‘To a Butterfly’ performed in Petersfield
On Wednesday 18 March 2026 two of the foremost ensembles in the area, the Gemini Consort choir and SouthDowns Camerata string orchestra, will be joining forces to deliver a programme of music by locally-based composers and other British works connected to and inspired by this area, as part of the Petersfield Musical Festival.
The centrepiece are works by Lucy Flint, Dorry Macaulay, Clive Osgood, Peter Thompson and Alessandro Timossi, residents in the Petersfield area with a reach across the UK and beyond, complemented by music by Gerald Finzi, Gustav Holst and Edward Elgar who worked and had homes in the Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex Downlands.
